Cycling in the rain! A very unusual wet start of Spring in Spain
The average rainfall in this region of Spain in March is quite low, especially if we compare it to the UK!
But this year our base camp in Calcena, has seen more rain in just a few days than in the last year.
What is usually a dry river bed in the summer it is now overflowing and the locals have had to bring out the digger to widen the river path, in order to avoid the flooding of the fields where they grow a huge variety of fruit and vegetables.
However, this doesn't affect our cycling as the river runs well below the road and we British can cope with a few unexpected showers!
