Calcena and Moncayo Spain
Calcena
Calcena is a small village which has now only 50 inhabitants, due to its isolated location, however it once was a very important village in the area because of its river, agriculture, silver mines and mineral wealth.
Surrounded by dramatic rocks and windy roads at an altitude of 836m, Calcena has retained its unspoilt and natural charm.
This is our main base for our cycling holiday.
Our cycling tour will take us around the area of the National park of Moncayo.
Calcena has become well known in Spain thanks to the very popular Long Distance Trail (GR) named 'Calcenada', which is a 104Km route starting in Calcena and ending back there, which can be completed by foot, by horse, running or cycling, you'd need a mountain bike!
